How the Learning Success Hub can help you
We offer the following services:
- Access to a 24/7 digital Library Portal containing all the eBooks, journals and databases you need for study and assessments.
- Specialised academic English support for writing and assessments if English is an additional language.
- Customised academic skills support and workshops to help with study skills such as academic writing, using the Library, referencing and assessments.
- One-to-one appointments for personalised support from a member of the Learning Success Hub team.
- Online chat service for support in real time with a member of the Learning Success Hub. Just click the ‘Chat with us’ message icon.
What's new from the Learning Success Hub this semester?
Academic Skills Team
- One to one support available both online and on campus for personalised help with essential skills like academic writing, assessments and referencing.
- A refreshed programme of Optional workshops on a range of academic study skills, available online and on campus.
- A series of Optional workshops for Level 6 and 7 students writing a dissertation or final project. These essential workshops will cover the ethics process (ARMS), methodologies, types of research and formatting. .
- Assessment support drop-ins available on all campuses in week 8. Look out for posters on the Learning Success Hub noticeboards. No booking required, just drop in if you need any help with your assessments..
- Regular academic skills online drop-in on Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:00–13:00 (GMT) No need to book. You can join using the online link.
New resources and guidance on appropriate and ethical use of artificial intelligence.
English Language Hub
- Online one-to-one appointments to look at your individual language issues in relation to your assignments.
- More Academic English workshops available online for support with academic English.
- Boost your academic writing skills and click the link to join our FREE Academic Writing in English Course. Available in flexible formats, including semi-intensive, one-day intensive, evening, online, and on-campus options. If you’ve taken AWE1, you’re now eligible to progress to the more advanced AWE2.
Brand new for this semester, Arden University students can now take an online FutureLearn course Academic Writing for Second Language Speakers
You’ll learn how to structure, paraphrase, and reference for improved university-level writing and will be supported by a Lecturer from the English Language Hub throughout.
Library Portal
- Search for a module reading list using our new reading list search page
Filter or search modules to access all your key and essential reading list resources. .
- Try the new natural language search when searching the Library collection, to make it easier to locate the resources you are looking for. Enter simple statements, questions, and research topics in the search bar and AI will convert these into an advanced keyword search.
- Explore the redesigned database pages on the Library Portal with more information and improved guidance on using key research databases.
- Check out our latest database HeinOnline packed with more than 3,300 law and law-related journals.
